Our History

Injibara Polytechnic College, established in 1994 G.C, has been a cornerstone of technical education in the Awi Zone of Ethiopia. Founded to address the growing need for skilled technicians and technical professionals in the region, the college has evolved into a comprehensive institution offering diverse technical and vocational programs.

From its inception, the college has been dedicated to providing quality technical education that meets the demands of various sectors including manufacturing, construction, energy, telecommunications, and agricultural industries throughout the region and beyond.

IPTC operates with legal personality as a polytechnic college under the city government laws and regulations, ensuring its commitment to educational excellence and community service.

Our Educational Journey

From foundational programs to advanced technical training

1994: Foundation

Injibara Polytechnic College was established to provide technical education in the Awi Zone, starting with basic vocational training programs.

1994-2005: 10+/2+3 Programs

The college provided vocational education in technical occupations including metal manufacturing, electricity, electronics, automotive, construction, woodwork, textile, and ICT through the 10+/2+3 program structure.

2006: Transition to Level I-V

The college transitioned to the Level I-V TVET system, expanding its program offerings and adopting competency-based training approaches.

Present: Level V Training

Currently, the college has advanced to offering Level V training programs, providing higher-level technical education and preparing students for advanced technical roles and supervisory positions.
